Law School Renews Agreement with Technische Universität Dresden

The University of Exeter Law School has renewed its partnership with Technische Universität Dresden, a long-standing international connection. TU Dresden is one of Germany’s premier universities, currently ranked at 155th in the Times Higher Education 2018 World University Rankings. In addition to specialising in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects, TU Dresden is also home to a strong Law School with whom Exeter have academic connections dating back as far as 1999.

For several years, Exeter has hosted TU Dresden students taking their International Studies in Intellectual Property Law onto Exeter’s LLM programme, where they follow the Intellectual Property Law pathway. Dresden’s International Studies in Intellectual Property Law programme works with a number of top universities to offer students an international experience. Students spend one semester studying at Dresden and one with an international partner university, allowing them to better understand different legal contexts and cultures. The renewal of Exeter’s agreement with Dresden will ensure that Dresden students can continue to study abroad at the University of Exeter for another five years.

Richard Edwards, Head of Exeter Law School, said of the arrangement. ‘We are delighted to renew our partnership with our TU Dresden, who have proved to be a highly valued partner for us over the years. They rightly enjoy an excellent reputation in the field of Intellectual Property Law and we have welcomed some impressive students from Dresden in the past. It is important for our LLM to host a diverse cohort of students, as the different perspectives they bring help to create a cosmopolitan academic environment on the course.’
