Natalie Sedacca publishes blog post on ruling about the value of domestic work

On 1st March 2021 Natalie Sedacca published a post on the UK Labour Law blog. Entitled ‘A crucial and long-needed step against the devaluation of domestic work: ‘family worker’ exemption dis-applied in Puthenveettil v Alexander & ors,’ the post is available here. The piece looks at an exemption that has permitted some live-in domestic workers to be paid below the minimum wage, and the importance of a recent employment tribunal case in finding this unlawful and discriminatory.
