Devon Chambers Moot Competition Grand Final 2014

The final of the Devon Chambers moot competition, the internal competition at the University of Exeter, took place on Wednesday 4 June 2014.

The grand final was attended by the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Percy Prowse. The bench was composed of HHJ Salomonsen, Professor Jenny McEwan (Professor of Criminal Law at the University of Exeter) and Scott Horner (Barrister at Devon Chambers).

The Devon Chambers competition is extremely popular among Law students at Exeter, with over 100 students participating this year. It is run by students themselves, with the burden of organisation having been shared this year by the outgoing Master and Mistress of the Moot, Matthew Hunter and Carys-Mair Owen, and the new Mistresses of the Moot, Emily Au and Gemma Edey.

The four finalists were Meghan Bryson, Sophie Clarke, Natalie Lucas and Adam Stevens. The winner, who was rewarded with book tokens and a mini-pupillage at Devon Chambers, was Sophie Clarke. Congratulations to all four mooters on their excellent performance throughout the competition and in the final round.

Kubo Macak, Director of Mooting
