College ranked 65th in the THE World Subject Rankings
World class research across the College of Humanities pushes us into the Top 100 THE global rankings
The College of Humanities has broken into the THE World Subject Rankings for Arts and Humanities at 65th place, showing the international reach of the College’s reputation and research.
Following the triumph of the University of Exeter as a whole breaking into the overall Times Higher Education global top 150 University Rankings, the College of Humanities is thrilled to have been ranked 65th in its specialist area. THE’s global rankings are judged particularly on research citations as a key indicator of an institution’s international reputation, so it’s a significant achievement to see Exeter ranking within the top 100. Since joining the Russell Group last year the University’s reputation has increasingly been recognised as world class, and our upward mobility in the global rankings is indicative of the outstanding research quality that continues to establish Exeter as a globally recognised institution.
Professor Nick Talbot, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Transfer, has praised Humanities for “leading the way” in the University’s institutional aim of getting to the top 100. He notes that this new ranking is a mark of a “strong upward trend” in the influence that the University’s research exerts in the global sphere.
Steve Smith, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive adds: “Exeter will continue to improve its position as its reputation for world-class teaching and research grows around the globe.”
