Discover breadth of health services research at Medical School

An insight into the wide range of research taking place at the University of Exeter Medical School’s Institute of Health Research will be on offer at a series of inaugural lectures which are open to all.

Six Professors who specialise in research which aims to improve patient experience and treatment will present their work this Spring. Their work ranges from understanding the way that clinicians and patients communicate to the causes, effects and treatments of depression in people with long-term health conditions.

Professor Stuart Logan, Director of the Institute of Health Research, said: “I’d encourage anyone with an interest in health services research to come and find out more about these exciting areas of work. These are inaugural lectures, so these professors are relatively new to Exeter, but they are well established world-leaders in their fields, and these events will offer a fascinating overview of their work.”

The inaugural lecture series will take place on:

April 22: Professors Chris Dickens and Tamsin Ford
“Mental Health from Cradle to Grave”
NC12, St Luke’s Campus. RSVP to Wendy Cowell

April 28: Professors William Henley and Colin Green
“The numbers driving our health service”
RILD lecture theatre. RSVP to Leala Watson

June 18: Professors Rose McCabe and Jose Valderas
"Listening to Patients"
RILD lecture theatre. RSVP to Wendy Cowell

All sessions will take place 5 – 7pm. Refreshments and a networking opportunity will be provided, but if you plan to attend, please RSVP to help with catering. Twitter users can use hashtag #ExeterInaugural to connect on the events
