Oli Glaisyer, fourth year Medicine student, has been named Course Rep of the Year for the Medical School
Exeter Medicine student wins Course Rep of the Year Award
A Medicine student from the University of Exeter Medical School has been named Course Rep of the Year at the Falmouth and Exeter Students’ Union’s (FXU) Student Voice Awards.
The award recognises a Department Rep that has gone above and beyond to bring about change that has a positive and tangible impact on the academic experience of their peers.
On receiving the award, Oli Glaisyer, a fourth year Medicine student based in Truro, said: “I am extremely proud to be the first to win this prize at the FXU Student Voice Awards. I’m really pleased that students and staff have valued the work that I and the other Course Reps have put in. Hearing some of the comments from students and staff was hugely gratifying. It’s been amazing to help influence how the Medicine course evolves at a time when the Medical School is expanding.
I chose to become a Course Rep because I feel it’s important that students’ views are heard. I have enjoyed my time working as a Rep in the Medical School, as it has allowed me to work with students, staff and placement providers to make real improvements.”
Student and staff nominators said: “Oli has worked really hard to develop the overall experience for students based at Truro Medical School as well as making sure they are fully represented within the University systems and committees. He is a real pleasure to work with, and it is safe to say the experience for students in Truro has benefited hugely as a result of his work. He has left a great legacy and has been a legend!”
In its seventh consecutive year, the FXU Student Voice Awards was planned and organised by the combined students’ union for the University of Exeter Cornwall Campuses and Falmouth University to recognise student and staff successes.
