Medical School lands in UK top 10 in Complete University Guide

The University of Exeter medical School has entered the top 10 Universities for Medicine of 34 in the UK, in the influential Complete University Guide.

The University of Exeter Medical School secured its position at 10th, achieving excellent scores for research quality, and graduate prospects, in the 2020 Medicine League Table.

Of the universities listed in the top 10, the University of Exeter Medical School's Medicine course ranked fourth for student satisfaction, and its Medical Imaging course ranked third overall.

Professor Clive Ballard, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean, said: “It is brilliant to see the Medical School perform this well once again. Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved.

“The Medical School educates tomorrow's doctors, scientists and healthcare professionals, and supports them to be empathic and inquisitive, and to adopt our ethos of putting people first.”

Dr Bernard Kingston, principal author of The Guide, said: “The league tables, taken with the rankings for specific subjects, offer would-be students an accurate and independent guide to the UK university system.

“They should not be used in isolation but alongside all the other advice and information in the Guide. Its tables are recognised for their stability and consistency, and this year once again demonstrates this.”

The top 10 universities for Medicine are the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, the University of Glasgow, the University of Swansea, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Dundee, Imperial College London, Queen Mary, University of London, the University of Keele, and the University of Exeter Medical School.
