Professor Clive Ballard, Executive Dean and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Exeter College of Medicine and Health, said: “I’m delighted to see our Medicine programme recognised in the top 10 of this prestigious national guide. We know our teaching and research are going from strength to strength, and it’s great to see that reflected. I’d like to thank all our dedicated staff, students and supporters for all their amazing work, particularly in such a challenging year for everyone.”

The University also preserved its second-placed position in the South West region, in the latest ranking, released today (June 8th 2021).

Both science and humanities subjects have been recognised as being amongst the best in the country, with 36 in the top 20 - of which 12 subjects are top 10. Three subjects appeared in the top 5 -  the highest ranking of which was Anthropology in 3rd.

Professor Lisa Roberts, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter said: “It is pleasing to see that Exeter has performed strongly both regionally and nationally in this year's Complete University Guide.  It is also encouraging to see so many subjects across the sciences and humanities perform so well, with more than 30 in the top 20. It reflects Exeter's position as a strong, encouraging and rewarding environment where students and staff alike are nurtured and stimulated to flourish and thrive."
