Exeter Politics Department played host to a UK Parliament 'talking day'.

On Saturday 1^st November, Exeter Politics Department played host to a UK Parliament ‘talking day’. The session brought together students from the University and from Exeter’s University of the 3^rd Age (U3A) to discuss the importance of Parliament and voting for different generations. Specifically, the explored questions such as – why do you think we have the vote? What happens to democracy if citizens no longer vote? How can the internet help us make better decisions?

The event is a forerunner to a larger intergenerational debate which will take place at the House of Lords on 28^th November 'Parliament 2.0: in a digital society, is politics for politicians or is everyone a decision maker?'
