Sociology achieves league table success
Sociology at the University of Exeter has increased its position in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016 rankings. It is now ranked in the top 5 – 3rd in the UK for Sociology, an increase of 10 places over the last year.
The league table is made up of nine indicators including: student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects, entry qualifications, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates.
Professor Michael Hauskeller, Head of Sociology, Philosophy and Anthropology, says that “the increase in our Sociology ranking really reflects the quality of our research, which was ranked 9th in the UK in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, that directly feeds into our teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Not to mention increases in our student satisfaction, and the success of our graduates – 95.5% of which progress to employment or further study within six months of graduation*.”
