40 home-based games for families
Surviving and thriving with a family in lockdown is tough. Everyone is together 24/7 and tempers can fray. Ginny Russell, a senior researcher in the Children and Young People’s Mental health collaboration (ChYMe) has created a resource to encourage all members of families with younger children to set aside regular time to play games together during lockdown. The resource provides instructions on a variety of home-based games and activities that require little or no equipment. Forty home-based games for families is available on-line from today. Dr Russell commented ‘Spending time as a family on play (so long as you are not sick) alleviates anxiety; strengthens bonds and promotes good mental health – plus, it is fun!’
