Professor Doug Stokes has been asked by BISA to act as one of three appointed international judges for the prestigious ‘Susan Strange Book Prize’ for best book in international relations in 2012. Eight books have been nominated for assessment by leading university and commercial publishers with the winner announced at the BISA conference in 2013.
Professor Stokes specialises in US foreign policy, international security and transatlantic grand strategy. He has published a number of books, journal articles and book chapters in these areas and was the principal investigator for a British Academy large grant that culminated in my most recent co-authored monograph, Global Energy Security and American Hegemony, published with Johns Hopkins University Press in 2010. His most recent co-edited volume was US Foreign Policy; published by Oxford University Press. The second edition came out in 2012.
