Have you recently successfully defended your PhD at Exeter? Are you looking for post-doc funding?

Funding is available through the Centre for Rural Policy Research for University of Exeter students who have successfully defended their PhDs to continue their research for periods of between 3 and 12 months. The PhD and the work arising from it must be relevant to the Centre’s Sustainable Rural Futures Programme   (http://socialsciences.exeter.ac.uk/research/centres/crpr/research/projects/current/sustainableruralfutures/).

The fund is designed to support students in one or more of the following activities:

• Dissemination of the results of the PhD research through the preparation of research publications.
• Other forms of dissemination and impact activities such as presenting papers at local, national and international seminars and conferences.
• Preparation of research grant proposals for further work within the CRPR.

Potential candidates are invited to submit applications in the form of a two page CV and a proposal, on a single side of A4, outlining a scheme of work. Your proposal should indicate the work you would undertake and should specify a timetable with clear milestones.  The application should indicate in general terms any likely expenditure on travel associated with the work but a detailed budget is not required. 

Proposals are acceptable at any point during the third year of doctoral studies up until 6 months after submission of your thesis, but a successful award will only commence after the award of the PhD.
