The Centre for Rural Policy Research is part of a £300,000 Defra funded Consortium responsible for establishing and co-ordinating an 'Ecosystems Knowledge Exchange Network' over the next two years.

The Network’s role is to develop a community of practice for managing marine/terrestrial environments in a more strategic and integrated way. The establishment of the Network was a recommendation of the recent White Paper on the Natural Environment. Dr Rob Fish of CRPR is responsible for leading the Network's activities on the use of participatory and deliberative techniques in policy development and environmental appraisal.
