Human Dignity and a Dignified Existence

Catherine Dupré presented a research paper entitled ‘The Right to a Dignified Existence and Democracy: Human Dignity, Affiliation and Time’ at an interdisciplinary workshop on law and philosophy convened on 20-21 October 2017 by the Human Rights Centre of the University of Potsdam. The paper explored the concept of a dignified existence on the basis of human dignity, its connections with democratic government, and the protection of individuals’ ability to shape their own lives in terms of their past, present and future experiences and aspirations.
