Professor Bateman, Director of the Land, Environment, Economics and Policy Institute (LEEP), talks about why it is important for researchers to engage with policy makers.

He says ''If you are interested in changing things, then it is absolutely vital to engage with all those people that actually make descisions in the world. Policy makers have a large influence in that community, but I would also add business people and the general public...You've got to think of the real world challenge that decision-makers face.''
