UK Social Mobility Awards
The University of Exeter has been shortlisted for both Innovation and University of the Year in the UK Social Mobility Awards.
As the UK’s first Centre for Social Mobility, our Centre has made significant achievements since it was established in 2018. From influencing national policy and informing government guidance, to promoting university contextual admissions and support for disadvantaged students, the innovative work carried out has helped in widening access and building an inclusive university community. The Centre relies on the strong collaboration between both academics and practitioners, and ensures that research is priority driven with practical application that practice is built on a solid evidence base. Most recently, the University of Exeter’s Centre for Social Mobility has carried out a rapid response research project looking at the educational impact of school closure on teachers, parents and students as a result of Covid-19.
The UK Social Mobility Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of businesses and organisations across the country in their work of advancing social mobility, and the awards night will take place in October.
