The gym at St Luke's Sports Centre has benefitted from a £40,000 investment in new fitness equipment.
New gym equipment for St Luke’s Sports Centre
Over £40,000 has recently been invested in the gym at St Luke’s Sport Centre. The investment has brought a large variety of new equipment and will give members access to the latest Life Fitness technology to assist their workout.
The investment is the culmination of an ongoing project to refit St Luke’s gym and has meant that old equipment has been replaced with more functional, user friendly exercise machines. The latest instalment has included; four bikes, three rowing machines and a six items of upper and lower body resistance weights machines following on from the three new cross trainers, new dumbbells and weight plates purchased last month.
The new equipment will greatly enrich the St Luke’s gym experience and also support St Luke’s expanded programme of fitness classes. The fitness class timetable which now includes Circuits, Total Body Conditioning, Yoga, Pilates and Zumba is designed to give people of all fitness levels an enjoyable, sociable workout. Membership is not required to take part in exercise classes which are held at convenient times throughout the week.
Sports Officer Jason Cordice said “It’s fantastic to be able to bring new equipment to support our expanding fitness programmes. We understand that every customer has different fitness goals so we aim to offer a comprehensive package to help people of all abilities get the most out of their workout. Our classes are designed to suit every need and ability, be it an intense workout or a relaxed social approach to exercise.”
Delivery of the new fitness equipment has coincided with a reduction in student entry prices and increased opening times at St Luke’s gym. Students now enjoy an entry of just £3 during peak time and £2 during off-peak periods – gym entry will remain free for gold and platinum members. The Gym and swimming pool at St Luke’s are also now open for use from 8:00 Monday-Friday to offer members greater training flexibility.
St Luke’s Sports Centre Manager Bill Hart commented “The new gym equipment is exceptional. We have been working incredibly hard over the last two years to update and upgrade the gym at St Luke’s and this equipment will ensure that we can stay ahead of the competition and provide the best possible gym experience to our members. The new equipment shows our continued commitment to our customers, be them staff, students or members from the wider community and we want as many people as possible to enjoy our new facilities.”
St Luke’s Sports Centre is open to students, staff and members of the wider community. For more information on the gym at St Luke’s call 01392 724940 or visit St Luke’s reception for a tour of the facilities.
