Have you seen the light? The latest innovation in Indoor Cycling has arrived at the Russell Seal Fitness Centre, Sports Park. The new Matrix iC7 bikes are the latest technology from Matrix Fitness and offer huge advancements in training. The participants will instantly feel the benefits of improved belt technology and flywheel speed offering advanced performance. The bikes have been designed to the highest specification to be easy and quick to set up for each unique rider and have all bike electronics are powered by the flywheel.
Participants in the Indoor Cycling class will be able to easily set-up their training zones and instantly recognise when they fall below their own standards and aims! The key element is due to the unique coloured lights on the front of the bike the instructor will also be able to see and can power-up the class and / or individuals. The lights cycle through distinct colours when training; white, blue, green, yellow and red.
The University were visited by master trainer, Steve Barrett, on the day the bikes were delivered and took the floor to lead two sessions. The first session was for customers to try the new class before the new Term 1 Classes programme launched and the second session was solely for Sports Office staff. Sports Office staff were invited to sample the classes to really understand the benefits as well as have a bit of fun late on a Friday!
Neil Sheppard, Assistant Director of Sport, who is a keen cyclist took up the challenge of the class and is sure the bikes will be a huge benefit, “We continuously invest in our facilities and services and I’m sure these new bikes will be a massive hit. They will help our customers to identify and reach their fitness goals, and of course if they are not working hard enough the instructor will know!”
The Term 1 classes timetable runs from Monday 12 September to Friday 9 December and there are 8 Indoor Cycling classes a week. All the classes are free to Inclusive members, with Gym and Pay-as-you-go members able to attend at a discounted rate. Non-members are welcome at competitive rates.
