Reflecting on the 1st BUCS competition of the year, University of Exeter Sailing Club Commodore Emma McKnight commented “Even though it got off to a rocky start with Saturday being cancelled, it was great to see all of our Exeter sailors on top form on Sunday. We completely dominated three out of the four fleets which allowed us to maintain the high level of success we have had over the past few years at the fleet nationals. We are continuing to train hard every week and I am hopeful that we can continue this success in the remaining three BUCS competitions in April”.
Sailing is part of the University of Exeter Performance Programme, which works closely with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) to support talented sailors within the RYA Olympic Pathway. This year 9 sailors are supported with a University of Exeter Sports Scholarship.
