Kaitlin warming up for EUNC
Performance Netballer Scores Scotland A Selection
Exeter University Netball Club's (EUNC) own, Kaitlin Lawrence (BA History) has been selected for the 2021/22 Scotland A squad. Having just played for English Universities over the summer as WA, Kaitlin went straight into trials which saw her be successful in Wednesday's announcement.
Kaitlin is a strong attacker, playing GA/GS and also WA. She has represented UoE 1st team in BUCS, plays for Exeter Netball Club in England Netball Premier League 3, and also represented Team Bath U21 NPL last season. Despite the last year of disruptions, it hasn't stopped her training, with support from her performance programme. As she starts her third year of studies, we caught up with Kaitlin to get her thoughts about her upcoming 2021/22 season with Scotland...
I’m really excited for the season ahead, finally getting back into the swing of things after a long 18 months! The university have been extremely supportive in helping me balance my degree with netball, being able to chat through decisions with my scholarship mentor allows me to make the most of my time at university whilst also playing and travelling.
Head of Netball here at Exeter, Denise Ellis, said:
We pride ourselves here at Exeter in offering a strong platform for athletes to come into our programme and continue to develop their game to support their national and international ambitions, and Kaitlin is a fantastic example of this. A huge congratulations to Kaitlin for all the hard work she has put in to secure this selection.
The Scotland A selection is another stand out achievement for Kaitlin and we couldn't be more proud of another UoE success!
