Mae Truman-Davies representing the Gibraltor National Team
Selected for home, playing at home – Mae’s Gibraltar journey
Mae Truman-Davies has been selected to represent Gibraltar at the Europe Netball Challenge Competition this October. She is passionate, hard-working and is fully committed to her Netball.
Mae was a rising star when competing at U17 level and the upcoming competition provides her with an opportunity to gain more experience at international level with the aim to establish herself as a regular member of the Gibraltar National Squad.
Mae's netball journey started at the age of 10. She was selected for the Gibraltar U17s at the age of 13 and played for them for 3 years. At 16, she was selected to represent the Gibraltar Senior Squad in the 2019 Netball Europe Challenge Competition which gained her 5 senior caps.
We spoke to Mae ahead of the games and she couldn't be more excited:
"I can’t wait to return to represent my country and hopefully earn my 6th cap in the Europe Netball Open Challenge on home soil. I’d like to thank the whole Gibraltar team & management staff for the continuous support and training over the last two tough years, as well as EUNC squad & coaches for being so welcoming and supportive of me as I settle into life at university. The level of training and support from the team & coaches has been fantastic to experience. I hope all the work put in with UoE Netball helps to strengthen and progress my game as well as develop my overall match skills. My goal is to make UoE proud and Gibraltar as we hold this international competition on The Rock."
Mae is part of Exeter's HPP Netball which includes Wednesday BUCS matches in Premier South competing at the highest University level, Individual player reviews and up to 5 S&C sessions per week. We will be cheering on Mae this weekend at the Competition and can't wait to see what the season holds for her and the Exeter squad. The 1st team kick of their 2021/22 campaign on Wednesday (6th), with Mae and the 2's starting their games the week after.
